Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) faces scrutiny as it launches an independent review of its cloud computing technology used by the Israeli Defense Forces. The decision follows pressure from employees and activists, with shares dipping slightly in Tuesday's trading session.

A May investigation revealed Microsoft's Azure cloud technology was employed by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, though not for targeting Gaza. The company has since acknowledged limitations in monitoring customer usage of its products—a standard industry practice that now draws heightened attention.
